Last week, Mizzou announced the official schedule for fall camp, which kicks off on August 2 with media availability from Eli Drinkwitz, offensive and defensive coaches, as well as select players. And while their quotes are sure to be littered with cliched snippets, Drinkwitz always gives himself – and his players, for that matter – room to roam just enough to get us frothing at the mouth.
Hang in there, folks. This time next week, your Morning Commute will be dissecting opening day tidbits. Assuming they’re not gazumped by something bigger, of course.

Teams don’t win because of the contribution of one star. After all, there are 24 individual routines in a gymnastics meet, six players on the volleyball court, five on Norm Stewart Court, and 11 on the field at Faurot during a game. Players like Mark Mitchell and Ahmad Hardy can’t singlehandedly win the game for Missouri. Kimarra Echols can’t compete her masterful Yurchenko Full six times in one vault rotation. Abby Hay can’t score all the runs while also pitching a complete game.
