Paris Saint-Germain are reported to have submitted an offer valued at €50m to FC Barcelona in their bid to sign Ferran Torres (26), according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Whilst the Parisian club are reportedly very close to reaching a verbal agreement with the Spanish forward, talks with the Blaugrana are said to be in their final stages. A successful outcome therefore appears to be drawing nearer.
The sole goalscorer in the last World Cup final, Torres is therefore expected to head to France shortly, where he would be reunited with Luis Enrique, under whom he played for the Spanish national team.
A striker for FC Barcelona for the past four years, having joined from Manchester City, Torres has made over 200 appearances and scored 65 goals in all competitions. Although he made 49 appearances last season, his desire to play a more prominent role within an elite squad is said to have precipitated his decision to leave Catalonia.
