Charles Snowden was signed this offseason as a depth piece for Christian Parker but was suspended for the first three games of the year, thanks to a DUI arrest from 2024.
So that wasn't exactly a great way to start things with your new team.
A semi-starter with the Las Vegas Raiders, Snowden managed to start nine games last season and was looked at as a possible rotational piece for Parker.
But as we know, the NFL moves quickly, and the Cowboys have released Snowden to make way for new offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez.

So, depth comes in for Dak Prescott's protection, and a defender who was going to miss the first three games is out.
That wasn't the only transaction to have a Cowboys theme, though.
We know that edge Jadeveon Clowney was searching for a new NFL home, and some thought that a return to Dallas could be forthcoming.
We know that the Cowboys saw Clowney as a rotational piece at best, while Jadeveon clearly wanted a bigger role after leading Dallas in sacks last season with 8.5.
There was also a thought he didn't really fit with Parker's system either.
But now, Clowney is back in the NFL, just for a different Texas team, as he signs with the Houston Texans.
Clowney, a former first overall pick, returns to where it all began, as he becomes another pass-rushing weapon for Texans defensive coordinator Matt Burke.

With Will Anderson Jr., Danielle Hunter, Dominique Robinson, and Dylan Horton ahead of him, Clowney looms as possibly the ideal rotational piece in Houston.
Given that Clowney originally called Houston home for the first five years of his career, he told the Houston Chronicle why he decided to return.
“I felt like they got a good team and I can help contribute. It was a really easy decision,” Clowney said . “It wasn't about the money.”
And in what is a nice little quirk, Clowney will be facing the Cowboys in Week 4, so he will get a chance to remind the franchise of what they're missing out on.
