Julian Alvarez is being tipped to push again for an exit from Atletico Madrid in the coming days and weeks in a bid to force through a move to Barcelona.
The Argentina star said publicly during the World Cup that he wants out of Atletico, but Los Colchoneros continue to insist he is not for sale.
According to Diario Sport, Alvarez “will do everything possible” to try and join Barcelona and “intends both to talk to his current club, Atlético de Madrid, and to make a second public gesture.”
The report adds that Alvarez “feels deceived” by Atletico as he had been previously promised they would be willing to negotiate if a good offer arrived.
Barcelona have reportedly made a €100 million bid for the Argentine, although club president Joan Laporta has hinted that this offer will expire at the end of this month
Meanwhile, Barca reporter Achraf Ben Ayad has shared an update and says the Catalans know that Atletico are digging their heels in and a resolution is needed.
He posted on X: “Barcelona has now fully realized that Atlético will not change its position regarding Julián. Anticipation is now building for the extent of any new move from the player. The countdown to resolving this file has begun.”
This saga may now be finally coming to an end, but it’s still unclear how it will play out. Laporta has said the club do have alternative targets and they may well be needed if Atletico still refuse to sell.
