The New Orleans Saints , like the rest of the NFL, have begun their offseason training camp this week. Tyler Shough, Jordyn Tyson, and Travis Etienne Jr., along with the rest of the roster, are finally back in action.
However, the Saints got some absolutely terrible news during training camp shortly after it had just started. Unfortunately, this news comes on ascending defensive lineman Bryan Bresee's health.
According to Ian Rapoport , Bresee is feared to have suffered a torn ACL, which, if true, would mean that the young DT would miss the entirety of the 2026 NFL season.

"Saints DT Bryan Bresee, one of the linchpins their defense and a rising star, is feared to have suffered a torn ACL, per me and @MikeGarafolo. While tests are ongoing, it's likely the former first-rounder is done for the season," Rapoport reports.
This is some absolutely awful news for the Saints, and even worse news for Bresee. Losing such a key player before the season is such a massive letdown.
Bresee, the 24-year-old defensive tackle drafted 29th overall in the first-round of the 2023 NFL Draft, is now likely to miss all of 2026 due to this knee injury.
It's not officially a torn ACL, but the signs aren't looking promising, as Bresee is likely to miss all of 2026 due to this knee injury for the Saints.

What makes this such an unfortunate injury for Bresee is that this was a pivotal season to try to land a new contract. He's under contract for 2027 on the fifth-year option, but if he thrived this season, he could have signed an extension well beyond next year.
Now, Bresee will miss all of what would've been his fourth season in the NFL, and will have to return to form in 2027 for the Saints, a year removed from this injury if it's confirmed to be a torn ACL.
He put up 14.5 sacks in three seasons with 86 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 31 quarterback hits in 49 games and 26 starts the past three seasons.
This injury update for Bresee is awful, as the star defensive tackle is now slated to miss a lot of time, and potentially, all of the 2026 NFL season after this possible torn ACL.
