On Tuesday, July 28, Carter and the Eagles agreed to a four-year, $152 million extension, according to multiple reports. The agreement includes $106 million guaranteed, per reports.
The deal shatters the record for average annual value for a defensive tackle contract, which Jeffery Simmons set in June with his three-year, $105.8 million extension with the Tennessee Titans .
Carter is the second linchpin of the Eagles' line to sign a sizable extension this offseason after fellow defensive tackle Jordan Davis in March agreed to a three-year, $78 million pact.
Carter, 25, had two years remaining on his rookie deal after the Eagles in April exercised his fifth-year option.
