"The more they produce, the more likely they receive a richer contract in 2027. Boutte noted that dynamic last week, saying he naturally wants it to be his best season, and that's why sources close to Boutte say he would welcome a trade if the right situation presented itself."
Boutte recorded 46 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns last season, his career high for touchdowns.
Boutte has tried to remain stoic amid rumblings about his future this summer.
"We all hear a lot of the stuff going on," Boutte said. "I think my main focus is that I'm here today. If I'm somewhere else next week, or the week after, that's part of the business."
Based on the start of training camp, the Patriots have no reason to trade Boutte unless they receive a deal too good to be true for the former sixth-round pick.
