Confirmed: Real Madrid squad list to face Schalke – Diomande, Mbappe in

Real Madrid will take on Schalke 04 in their final pre-season friendly match before the start of the 2026/27 tomorrow in Gelsenkirchen.

Ahead of their trip to Germany, manager Jose Mourinho has announced the squad list of players who will be available at his disposal.

Diomande in, heavy-hitters return

The big news is that blockbuster summer signing Yan Diomande has been named in the squad and could make his long-awaited debut for Real Madrid.

The €140 million signing was not deemed ready for Los Blancos’ last two friendlies against Ferencvaros and Deportivo La Coruna and will be eager to make an impact in the final game before the actual season starts.

Along with Diomande, fellow summer signings Ibrahima Konate and Marc Cucurella, who returned to training earlier this week, are also called up for the first time by Mourinho.

Meanwhile, big-names like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham also return to the squad, having only made their way back to pre-season this week after their World Cup breaks.

Endrick among the absentees

Young striker Endrick misses out as he is dealing with a muscle overload. Also absent is Aurelien Tchouameni, who is recovering from a physical discomfort and could be ready for the start of the season.

Raul Asencio and Thiago Pitarch are also unavailable through injuries, along with Rodrygo, Eder Militao, and Ferland Mendy.

Thibaut Courtois, who has yet to feature in any pre-season matches this summer, is in the squad for the first time and could get a game.

Youngsters Mario Rivas, Jorge Cestero, and Alexis Ciria also continue in the squad, but Lacosta and Dani Yanez have been left behind.
