Now heading into his first full season with the Eagles, Bigsby appears to be fully bought in.
When asked about his approach to pass protection on Tuesday, Bigsby gave an answer that should excite Eagles fans everywhere.
"Don't let [Jalen Hurts] get hurt, don't let J get hit," Bigsby replied. "If I have to put my body on the line, that’s what I got to do.”
Through 16 games with the Eagles as a backup running back for Saquon Barkley in 2025, Bigsby rushed for 344 yards and two touchdowns.
First-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion feels both Barkley and Bigsby can have a strong impact on the Eagles' pass game this coming season. But before they release as "capable pass catchers and route runners," they'll need to make sure Hurts is protected in the backfield.
“A lot of it sometimes comes down to the protection element,” Mannion said, via EaglesWire. “Do we need a sixth man in protection, a seventh man in protection, so on and so forth?”
The Eagles will open up their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 13.
