Bill Simmons addresses hilarious Bronny James playoff idea which could cause problems for LeBron James

LeBron James is no longer teammates with his son Bronny following his move to the Philadelphia 76ers. Bill Simmons shared a fan’s joke idea which could be an issue for the King.

LeBron James made history in 2024 when he appeared on the court alongside his son, Bronny, after he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.

After two years on the same team, though, the father and son will now face off as opponents when the Lakers play the Philadelphia 76ers.

However, there has been speculation about Bronny’s future in LA. A fan suggested a hilarious idea an Eastern Conference team could employ, with Bill Simmons addressing it on a podcast.

If the younger James stays in LA, the chances of the two meeting in the playoffs remain quite low. However, Bronny going to an Eastern Conference contender would change things on that front.

Simmons got a question from a fan about what would happen if a team made Bronny guard his father in the playoffs, leading to a hilarious take.

“Question. Why couldn’t an East contender trade for Bronny for the sole purpose of guarding LeBron during key moments in a playoff series? No way he is looking to embarrass his son, right?” Simmons read.

“This is really good,” Simmons said. “I would have a lot of trouble embarrassing my son in front of a crowd of 20,000 people on a nationally televised game.

“This LeBron thing… You trade a minimum for Bronny and now he’s just kind of lurking as an almost kind of Kryptonite situation for LeBron… Put him on there and LeBron just naturally has to ease up… I think it’s a great idea.

Obviously, this is a joke and not something an actual team might consider. If it did become a reality though, LeBron has shown he is a consummate professional and will do anything it takes to win.
