Liverpool can now ruin their rivals season by poaching ‘special’ sensation

Liverpool haven't been as busy this summer as their fans would have wanted.

Most people expected the Anfield outfit to massively change their team around, especially after what happened during the 2025-26 season.

Arne Slot being sacked was the first step that most people thought the Reds were taking but, aside from adding Victor Munoz to their ranks, it seems like it's the only move they've made to try and improve their team.

Indeed, deals for players such as Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye seem to be in the pipeline but, until those moves are confirmed, Liverpool's fans can't really get too excited about the upcoming season.

However, after the latest news to emerge from Anfield, it seems like Liverpool could be about to ruin the season of one of their rivals.

One of Liverpool's main problems this season is going to be their attack.

Hugo Ekitike hasn't been given a return date yet and, with Mohamed Salah now gone, their attack is seriously lacking in depth.

Indeed, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak could end up re-finding their form but, if they play anything like they did last term, there's barely a chance that Liverpool will even qualify for the Champions League, never mind compete for silverware.

There is obviously still a month until the window slams shut so there is plenty of time for deals to be made and, as per the latest update from Caught Offside, it seems like Nick Woltemade could be the next player on Liverpool's agenda.

"Newcastle United are understood to have informed Nick Woltemade that he can leave the club on loan this summer, with interest growing," they wrote.

"Somewhat surprisingly, I’m reliably told by sources with ties to the agents industry that Woltemade’s situation has Liverpool and Manchester United on alert.

"Although the Germany international has struggled at Newcastle, he’s long been highly regarded in the game, so could be seen as a tempting option for big clubs."

Nick Woltemade would be an interesting deal for Liverpool to explore

For one reason or another, Newcastle seem to be getting rid of almost all of their players.

The Magpies have already sold Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali with Bruno Guimaraes also having one foot out of the exit doors.

Indeed, the fees that they recieved for each player were too good to turn down so, it's obvious why they didn't say no to any of the deals but, unless they manage to sign some players who are almost as good, they could end up being at the lower end of the Premier League table.

Since Liverpool only have one number nine among their ranks at the moment in Isak, a season-long loan deal for a new striker makes a lot of sense.

And, the fact that Woltemade has already had a season of experience in the Premier League makes it an even better deal for the Reds.

Obviously, these links have only just emerged so nothing is set in stone yet but, with the problems that Liverpool are facing, a loan deal makes financial sense and, if he can re-find the form that he showed at Stuttgart, the " special " striker could genuinely be a game-changer.
