Bengals TE has cheery outlook on experience getting hit by a truck

Not only did Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. survive getting hit by a truck, but he even said the incident was beneficial to his mental health.

The third-year pass-catcher told reporters at Bengals training camp on Thursday, July 30 that he was struck by a three-wheeled truck while vacationing in Greece. All said he was able to stand up with no issues after the collision, just with a scrape on his face and a new boatload of confidence.

"That was huge for my confidence, you don’t understand, that did a lot of good things for the mental," All said. "It could have been very bad."

All said he was about to cross a narrow street when the driver of the vehicle struck him while trying to avoid hitting someone else. While he was unsure how fast the three-wheeler was going, the tight end said he "got hit pretty hard" but was largely unfazed.

"I got up and was like, 'I'm (expletive) ready. I'm ready,'" All said. "It didn't hurt me at all, but it kind of gave that confidence like, 'Oh, I'm back.'

"It felt great. It was a good hit."

The third-year tight end has had a rough go his first two seasons in the NFL. All missed half of his rookie season in 2024 and the entirety of 2025 after tearing his ACL in a November 2024 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. When his recent run-in with a three-wheeler didn't leave him with any more issues with his knee – or any other body part – All said he knew it was a good sign for his 2026 outlook.

"That's what I do. I'm here for the physicality," All said. "And so, after not playing for a while, when I got smacked by that thing, and I got up. That's as big of a hit that anybody – that's the first time I ever got pancaked. Ever. So if I can take that, I'm good. I'm usually the hammer."

All will be hoping to give out more hits in 2026 like the one he took in Greece. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has already given his young tight end a vote of confidence during his own press conference on Wednesday, July 29.

"It's great to have [All] back," Burrow said. "Obviously, he had a lot going on with his knee, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him. He looks fit, fast, explosive. He'll play a big role for us this year."
