Ian Rapoport aims subtle dig towards A.J. Brown following his Philadelphia Eagles exit

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for the 2026 season without wide receiver A.J. Brown following his trade to the New England Patriots.

There had been plenty of noise from Brown and his camp over a potential move away from Philadelphia throughout last season.

Brown was left unsatisfied by the lack of opportunities he was getting with the ball during the back end of his spell with the Eagles.

A deal was agreed between the two franchises earlier in the offseason to send Brown to New England and reunite with former head coach Mike Vrabel.

With training camp now firmly underway, the Eagles are looking considerably different on offence without ‘Swole Batman’ on the roster.

There is also said to be one other significant difference about the Eagles now Brown is no longer there.

Philadelphia Eagles training camp ‘much quieter’ without A.J. Brown there

Eagles fans have already claimed Brown looks miserable in New England after footage emerged from their training camp earlier this week.

That is an issue the Eagles no longer have to consider as they prepare for the 2026 season, and it has been noted by those around the team.

“Well, first of all, the no A.J. Brown is certainly different. I mean, we’ve talked about A.J. Brown as it relates to the Philadelphia Eagles for two years, and here it’s just much quieter,” said Ian Rapoport on The Pat McAfee Show.

“There’s always noise around the Eagles. In the news world, we are always going to talk about them, but it’s not the same. It’s not like, “A.J. said this today, how do you react?” It is for sure much quieter.”

Brown spent four years in Philadelphia, but saw a significant decrease in his number of receptions in the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

The noise over his future grew as a result, which has naturally made the Eagles camp a much quieter place to be this offseason.

Internal noise over a player’s future is the last thing Nick Sirianni will have wanted this summer and allowing Brown to leave has benefited all parties.

Brown is capable of producing some seriously impressive numbers, but the noise he was producing will have been viewed as a distraction to the team.
