Brown has been a journeyman tight end ever since entering the league back in 2017 as an undrafted free agent rookie with the then Oakland Raiders.
Despite having never gotten to the point of becoming a bona fide starter, Brown has been a serviceable player that has predominantly been used as an in-line Y blocking tight end. lthough he has shown himself to be a decent receiving threat at times over the course of his career.
Whilst Brown has rarely been higher than the 2nd or 3rd tight end on the depth chart, he has impressively managed to start 56 games over the course of his career that has spanned a decade an seen him play in the NFL on six different offenses, including for division rivals, the Houston Texans.
In terms of the Colts' depth chart, the addition of Brown likely means fairly little; Will Mallory and Drew Ogletree will both be favored to make the final 53-man roster as backs to Tyler Warren and Mo Alie-Cox.
But, even if it is just for training camp, Brown brings experience and excellent blocking pedigree to what is already a strong tight end room.
