Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO was revealed just last month. It’s a new anime set in an alternate post-apocalyptic setting where Mobile Suit pilots battle against an alien menace. The upcoming video game Mobile Suit Rogue Orbit will be set in the same universe, and it looks like a slick action game with heavy shades of Armored Core . Both are slated for 2027.
Other upcoming projects include Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Zero , a prequel to the film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom . There is also a somewhat controversial live-action Gundam movie in development. All in all, there's a reason that Gundam Day was recently recognized as a holiday in Japan : this series remains very popular.
