After a slow start to the year, we’re beginning to get a lot of new music.

My first impression here is that it is very The Cure with a groovy bass line.

And considering that frontman Grian Chatten said the latest releae will feel “more like a catastrophic warning”, I’m wondering if we’ll get any more of these brooding lines.
They have big shoes to fill. Their past three outputs hit either 1 or 2 on the UK charts (no so great in the US – but who cares, right?). More importantly: Starbuster was ranked No. 6 in Fitzie’s Top 20 songs of 2024.
The question now is, will Fontaines D.C. live up to the hype again?
