Megan Thee Stallion has joined the Interscope family. The Houston Hottie announced on Friday (Aug. 14) that she’s inked a distribution partnership deal with Interscope Records and her Hot Girl Productions company.
Megan will maintain ownership of her masters and publishing while releasing future music independently through Hot Girl Productions with “global distribution and strategic support” from Interscope, according to a press release.
“I’ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry,” Megan said in a statement. “This distribution partnership with Interscope allows me to stay true to my creative vision while also increasing my global reach. I’m excited for this next chapter of growth and the expansion of my Hot Girl Productions empire.”
The 31-year-old rapper departs from Warner Music Group after signing an “innovative agreement” with the label in February 2024. The unique partnership also allowed Megan to keep ownership of her masters and publishing while utilizing UMG’s distribution and services ranging from music promotion to global marketing.
Megan Thee Stallion isn’t the first superstar to make the leap from WMG to Interscope this year, as Ed Sheeran joined Interscope in July.
“From the moment Megan emerged, it was clear she was a singular artist with an unmistakable voice and an extraordinary ability to shape culture on her own terms,” said Steve Berman , who serves as the vice chairman of Interscope Capitol. “She has consistently redefined what it means to be a global superstar—combining creative excellence, entrepreneurial vision and an uncompromising authenticity. We’re honored to welcome Megan to the Interscope family and excited to partner with Roc Nation as we support her next chapter.”
New music from Megan Thee Stallion appears to be on the horizon, as she’s continued to tease her upcoming Act: III album, which she said marks the return of her Tina Snow alter-ego .
“I can’t wait for this next chapter with my new Interscope family!! I’m forever grateful!!! ACT III IS ON THEE WAY HOTTIES,” she added on X.

The Houston Hottie’s last album arrived in June 2024 with Megan , which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 64,000 total album-equivalent units, according to Luminate. She didn’t waste much time returning with the Act: II deluxe in October of the same year.
Earlier in August, Megan Thee Stallion banked her first Diamond plaque for her 2020 “WAP” collaboration with Cardi B. “WOWW omg diamond sisterrr thank you for having me,” she wrote on X.
To date, Megan has three No. 1 hits and 43 entries on the Billboard Hot 100. All three of her albums have peaked inside the Billboard 200’s top five.
