Tulane is embracing the spirit of New Orleans in 2026.
The Green Wave will honor the city in which they reside in Week 2 with new "City Edition" alternate uniforms for their game against South Alabama. The "City Edition" uniforms are an homage to Mardi Gras, the annual celebration perhaps most closely associated with New Orleans.
Though Mardi Gras in 2026 was held in February and won't be held again until the same time in 2027, the timing of the uniform combination does make sense given the fact that Tulane's opponent hails from Mobile, the other city best known for its Mardi Gras celebrations.

The uniforms feature a bright green jersey with Mardi Gras-themed ornamentation on the collar, with white pants. The helmet features a pretty wild design that includes the iconic purple, green and gold Mardi Gras colors. It also features the school's "Angry Wave" logo wearing a Mardi Gras jester hat.
Some of the best alternate uniforms in sports reflect the local culture, and on that front, Tulane gets full marks from us.
