Ferrari tops the charts as McLaren falls short at the summer break

Concerns that the new power units introduced under the 2026 regulations could trigger reliability problems similar to those seen at the start of the hybrid era have largely been put to rest, with most cars proving remarkably reliable from the outset. But which team topped the mileage charts?

While Mercedes has dominated the season so far with an all-round package that has seen the W17 win eight of the opening 11 races, Ferrari has undoubtedly been the benchmark when it comes to reliability, as the mileage figures clearly show.

After 11 rounds, the Maranello outfit leads the way with 6,573 km completed and just a single retirement caused by a mechanical issue, Charles Leclerc's in the closing stages of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Alpine sits second in the reliability rankings in something of a surprise. Despite running Mercedes power units, the Enstone-based team has covered more kilometres than the Brackley outfit, racking up a total of 6,290 km. Haas completes the top three, and while the American team has slipped backwards in terms of outright performance over recent races, it has continued to enjoy excellent reliability with very few technical issues.

Despite running what has proven to be the most reliable power unit on the grid, Ferrari's, Cadillac suffered several retirements across the opening 11 races, leaving the American team with the unwanted distinction of completing the fewest laps of any constructor.

Mercedes is only fourth on the list, having covered 6,137 km, almost 500 fewer than Ferrari. The team's mileage has been affected by its three retirements so far, two involving George Russell, including his opening-lap collision with Lewis Hamilton at the Belgian Grand Prix, and another for Kimi Antonelli in Spain, where he retired alongside Leclerc.

The Red Bull-Ford-powered teams occupy fifth and sixth place, with Racing Bulls narrowly ahead of the Milton Keynes-based outfit after completing 6,013 km compared to Red Bull's 5,733 km. Overall, those are still solid mileage figures considering both are running an entirely new power unit in its debut season. The same can be said for Audi , which sits just behind Williams with 5,429 km completed.

McLaren has not fared quite as well in terms of mileage, with its tally heavily affected by the double DNS in China and two retirements. The latest came for Oscar Piastri at the Hungarian Grand Prix due to gearbox issues, while Lando Norris retired from the Canadian Grand Prix.

Aston Martin and Cadillac brought up the rear with 4,827 km and 4,603 km respectively. The Silverstone-based outfit was the team most heavily affected by technical issues, particularly in the early part of the season, with persistent vibration problems often preventing both drivers from reaching the chequered flag and, on some occasions, even taking the start.
