Darius Rucker, Luke Grimes Lead Omni Hotels Summer Festival & Music Series

Minutes after Rucker's final song, the sky above the fairway became the stage, with an elaborate drone show followed by a massive fireworks finale. It was the culmination of Fireworks on the Fairway, Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa's annual Independence Day celebration, which grew from 6,000 attendees last year to a sold-out crowd of 7,000 this year.

This year's celebration also served as Omni Hotels & Resorts contribution to America's 250th birthday, part of the company's year-long Celebrate America campaign spanning more than 50 properties.

"Our Summer Festival & Music Series is a cornerstone of our year-long Celebrate America campaign, which reflects Omni's American roots for more than 65 years," says Michael Innocentin, Chief Marketing Officer at Omni Hotels & Resorts. Innocentin says there was "no better artist to mark the occasion than Darius Rucker, whose music is part of so many cherished summer memories."

Fireworks on the Fairway is one stop on Omni's Summer Festival & Music Series, which also featured performances by John Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls and country star Clay Walker earlier in the summer, with Luke Grimes set to play Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad in September.

Grimes plays the Omni La Costa over Labor Day Weekend, with an exclusive outdoor performance under the stars for hotel guests and club members. In a press release, Omni said its music series is just another way its properties are honoring "the spirit of travel , shared history and togetherness that has defined Omni for decades."

Back in Dallas, Rucker's concert may have been the weekend's headliner, but the celebration was a perfect example of Omni's top-notch hospitality.

From the moment we checked in, the lobby felt less like a hotel and more like the world's nicest neighborhood block party. Adults lingered for vodka tastings while kids bounced between soccer stations, an ice cream cart, and caricature artists. Guests settled into card games at tables near the bar while families came and went from the weekend's festivities. For a resort this large, and one with PGA in its name, the whole thing felt surprisingly relaxed and communal. And every employee we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there — the warmth of the staff lingered longer than spectacle of the fireworks did.

Maybe that's Omni PGA Frisco's real trick. Thirty miles north of Dallas, the three-year-old resort has quietly become Texas' answer to Palm Springs: a place built around pools, sunshine, championship golf — with the 18-hole Fields Ranch East course — and an easygoing atmosphere.

Somewhere between "Wagon Wheel," the drone show, and a lobby full of families refusing to call it a night, Omni PGA Frisco stopped feeling like a golf resort and started feeling like one of the country's best summer-weekend escapes. Still, golf continues to be a main draw — Fields Ranch East will host the elite PGA Championship in 2027, bringing one of the sport's biggest stages to North Texas.
