In recent seasons, the NFL’s partnership with Nike for gameday uniforms has birthed some unique kits for teams to wear in place of the regular uniforms.
On Monday, the Buffalo Bills revealed the latest case in this category with gray jerseys and gray pants.

It’s days like this that personally make me grateful for the Kansas City Chiefs ’ stubbornness in keeping the red-and-gold uniforms mostly the same over decades of football.
In 2009, the 50th anniversary of the franchise’s start, Kansas City paid homage to the Dallas Texans by wearing uniforms that resembled the early-1960s look and helmets with the old-school Texans logo.
To my knowledge, that was the only time the Chiefs have made a significant decision to wear an alternate uniform. In the era of head coach Andy Reid, the team has worn red pants with red jerseys in select home games, but that is as far as it feels Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt is willing to go.
If it means avoiding the chance of an all-gray Chiefs uniform, I’m thankful for the willpower to keep tradition.
According to NFL.com , the Chiefs are scheduled to wear Nike’s “Rivalries” uniforms in 2027, but it remains to be seen what that will look like if it comes to fruition.
What do you think of the Chiefs holding firm on tradition with the uniforms? Would you want to see the franchise try something new? Let us know in the comments!
