A defensive menace, Jordan Walsh plans to hone his offense with Boston Celtics this season

When it comes to what he needs to focus on with the Boston Celtics this season, Jordan Walsh is locked in on where he needs to show some growth to best fit what the tea is going to need out of him. After the trade of star forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers , the Celtics will need to pick up the slack the Georgia native's departure creates even with Paul George coming back.

And Walsh has been preparing to do exactly that for some time now. Asked about his focus heading into training camp in a recent interview with NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg, Walsh related that he has been "trying to build, like I said before at Summer League, trying to build my offensive game, trying to redefine myself offensively."

"I feel like I've gained respect when it comes to being an on-ball defender, being a help side defender," added the Dallas, Texas native. "I feel like I've gained that respect and that's where I've made my mark, so to say."

"But I also felt like there were a lot of times where we decided, the Celtics decided to go a different way, direction mid-game because of the situation. And because I didn't fit that situation, I wasn't the best option for that situation."

"So my focus now is to be the best option for every situation," said Walsh. "Whether we need a bucket, whether we need a stop, whether it's crunch time in the fourth quarter ... I don't want to give anybody a reason for me not to be in the game. And so that's the focus – I want to be able to be that performer in those moments every time."
