On Monday, USC announced that its legendary football rivalry with Notre Dame will resume beginning in 2030 . After a four-year hiatus, the Irish will visit the Coliseum in Week 1 of the 2030 season, with the Trojans making the trip to South Bend the following year.
Following the announcement, USC head coach Lincoln Riley spoke about the matter in a press conference.
“We wanted to play this game,” Riley said. “Glad that we obviously got both sides together to agree and get that done.
“This game is part of our history. Part of college football history . . . we’re glad we finally got to a place where we got the other side to agree.”
The 2030 meeting will mark Notre Dame’s first trip to the Coliseum since 2024. Assuming that the two schools do not meet in a postseason matchup between now and then, the Trojans will be looking for their first victory over the Irish since 2022.
USC will open its 2026 season on August 29. Without Notre Dame on the schedule, the Trojans’ nonconference slate this fall will consist of San Jose State, Fresno State , and Nevada.
