Brighton among Premier League clubs mulling a move for fringe Barcelona attacker

Roony Bardghji’s future has become an increasingly prominent talking point at Barcelona this summer, with the young winger widely expected to leave the club in search of regular football.

The arrival of Anthony Gordon, coupled with the signing of Karim Adeyemi, has pushed the Swede further down the pecking order, and a move away now looks the most likely outcome.

And it appears clubs from the Premier League are leading the chase for his signature.

According to Diario SPORT , there are two clubs genuinely pushing to sign Bardghji, with Brighton having taken the lead.

The Seagulls are prepared to make a formal offer, though their pursuit hinges on a prior development.

Brighton are closely monitoring the future of Yankuba Minteh, who is himself being tracked by Liverpool. Should the Gambian depart, Brighton would move immediately to launch their bid for the Swede.

Bardghji, who managed just 871 minutes all season behind Lamine Yamal in his position, has several offers on the table.

The 20-year-old, whose future remains unresolved , has been convinced by his lack of game time that a move is necessary to prove he is good enough for Barcelona, and he prioritises a destination that guarantees him minutes.

Barcelona, for their part, have no desire to lose control of one of their prized assets.

The club are considering a transfer that includes a buy-back option, a mechanism that would allow Bardghji to gain the playing time he craves without Barcelona forfeiting the chance to bring him back in the future.

Both Deco and Hansi Flick continue to have faith in his quality and his ability to unbalance defences. The player’s contract at Camp Nou runs until June 2029.

Plenty of interest elsewhere

Brighton are not the only side in the mix either. Another Premier League club has enquired about Bardghji, while several European teams across six different leagues are also monitoring his situation.

For now, though, it is Brighton who are making the strongest push, and much may depend on whether Minteh completes his own move away from the south-coast club. Should that happen, Bardghji could soon be on his way to England.
