The Eagles are in their second week of training camp, and with injuries and evaluations, the roster is in constant fluctuation. The team made six moves on Monday, including signing all three players they had in for work outs over the weekend : DT David Blay, RB Ja’Quinden Jackson and OLB Tarron Jackson . To make room on the roster, Philadelphia waived undrafted rookies OG Jaeden Roberts and TE Dae’Quan Wright , and also placed RB Elijah Mitchell on IR.
Mitchell left Saturday’s training camp practice early, and by heading to IR ahead of the team’s final roster cuts, he’ll be unable to return for the 2026 season unless the Eagles release him with an injury settlement.
DT David Blay
The interior defensive lineman went undrafted out of Miami earlier this year, but ended up signing with the Patriots before he was ultimately waived a few days before landing with the Eagles.
Howie Roseman loves a local guy, and Blay is a Levittown, PA native who started his collegiate career at West Chester University. The 6-foot-2, 292-pound DT then went to play two seasons at Louisiana Tech before his final transfer to Miami.
RB Ja’Quinden Jackson
The running back went undrafted out of Arkansas in 2025, but signed with the Jaguars and spent his rookie season on Jacksonville’s practice squad. Despite signing Jackson to a futures deal in January, the team waived him in May, and he’s been looking for a team ever since.
As the Eagles start to consider work loads, having depth at running back will be important through the rest of training camp — especially considering the team lost Elijah Mitchell to injury.
OLB Tarron Jackson
The Eagles brought back Jackson, who was drafted in the sixth round by the team in 2021. The OLB played in Philadelphia through most of the 2024 season, except for a brief stint with the Panthers for three months late in the summer before returning to Philly. He signed with the 49ers in early-2025, but was placed on IR in July of that year after suffering a scary injury in training camp, per NFL.com .
“Jackson collapsed on the field after he was blocked on a play late in practice and was on the ground for several minutes before being taken off on a stretcher and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Jackson was conscious, able to communicate and feel all his extremities.“
Jackson was activated off the team’s IR in February and must be ready to get back on the field.
