Travis Kelce is back on the grind.

Less than a month after his splashy wedding to Taylor Swift , the Kansas City Chiefs tight end headed back to training camp on Wednesday, July 29 in preparation for his 14th season in the NFL, which is rumored to be his last .

Although Kelce, 36, only just got back to the practice facilities at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo., he’s been putting in the work all summer long. Last month, he missed Swift’s performance at the Toy Story 5 premiere in Los Angeles to attend the Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp from June 9 through June 11.

At the time, the team shared a video of Kelce on the field. “87 at work,” the Chiefs captioned a social media clip of the star tight end catching a football.

Kelce was then off to his annual Tight End University program in Nashville, before tying the knot with Swift, 36, at Madison Square Garden — and with an NFL schedule, the available honeymooning time was short. Two weeks later, Kelce was down in Miami working out with a few of his longtime trainers to get in tip-top shape ahead of preseason activities.

Travis Kelce’s been putting in the work all over the map as he prepares for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs run an official training camp ahead of preseason, he’s been training on his own, too.

“He always goes into his own routine with training, and it’s brutal,” Donna Kelce told PEOPLE exclusively in May. “Then he goes to actual training camp. He has to get ready before he goes to training camp. It’s a long process. It’s months to get ready. That’s what he’s doing right now.”

Kelce attended the Chiefs mandatory, three-day minicamp at their team practice facility in Kansas City from June 9 through June 11.

“It’s great to get these young guys in and our new players incorporated in the offense, defense and special teams,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said at the time . “I like the effort that they put forward — the veterans included. We had great attendance for everything, so that was a plus, too.”

Kelce then attended Tight End University in Nashville, where he and his fellow co-founders, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers and retired NFL star Greg Olsen, trained and mentored the best tight ends in the league from June 22 to June 25.

Days later, on July 3, Kelce wed Swift at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and two weeks later, Kelce was photographed in Miami getting back to conditioning . Cris Carter, the Director of Player Development for Florida Atlantic University Football, posted with Kelce on July 20 .

“Andrew and I started with Travis before his rookie year in the NFL. Know the 🐐 is preparing for THE LAST DANCE. Next stop Canton/HOF,” Carter wrote, referencing Kelce’s possible retirement after his 14th NFL season and his likely induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

When does Chiefs training camp start?

The Chiefs’ 2026 training camp started with rookies reporting on July 24 and veterans arriving on July 29 at Missouri Western State University. Kelce, among the vets, returned to team conditioning three weeks after his and Swift’s high-profile wedding.

“Camp no. 14 for @tkelce ,” the Chiefs wrote alongside a video of Kelce walking into the facilities — about an hour north of Kansas City — in his No. 87 jersey. As Kelce walked, fans attending the Chiefs’ open practice called out for his attention, with some congratulating him on his recent nuptials.

“Appreciate you guys coming out,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said as he made his way to the field.

During practice, Kelce looked ready to ramp up for the NFL season. In a video shared by reporter Taylor Burr, Kelce was seen receiving a pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for two different plays.

How long is Chiefs training camp?

Chiefs training camp will run through Aug. 20, according to the detailed schedule on the Chiefs website , with players expected to report on specific days depending on their position.

Wide receivers and tight ends are set to practice on Aug. 3 and Aug. 13 at 9:15 a.m. along with autograph sessions. No practice will be held on Aug. 2, Aug. 9, Aug. 14 or Aug. 16.

When is the Chiefs first preseason game?

The Kansas City Chiefs kick off their preseason with a game against the Los Angeles Rams at Arrowhead Stadium on Aug. 15. They’ll then play two more games — against the Buccaneers on Aug. 22 and the Super Bowl champion Seahawks on Aug. 28.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos for their first regular- season game on Sept. 14. They’ll play 16 more games through the season, with one bye week in Week 5.

Kelce hasn’t yet commented on whether this year will be his last in the NFL. “ I love this s--- ,” the athlete said when asked at Tight End University about the main deciding factor for him to return for a 14th season.

Kelce signed a one-year, $12-million deal with the Chiefs, but could always sign another one if he and Kansas City want to run it back next year.
