Scott Bair of Hogs Haven explained how Amos has struggled to stay healthy — the cornerback finally returned after a fractured fibula that ended his 2025 season, only to suffer a sprained ankle in his second practice back late in training camp.
“It’s a setback for the Commanders defense, considering he was expected to be their No. 1 cornerback. They’ll make do with a combination of Amik Robertson, Mike Sainristil and Rasul Douglas, among others.“

The corner was drafted by the Eagles in 2017 and helped the team win a Super Bowl, before ultimately being waived after the 2019 season. He proceeded to bounce around a bit, playing for the Panthers, Packers, Bills, and Dolphins, before joining the Commanders. The CB has been really solid since leaving the Eagles, despite not finding a long-term place to play, and can still affect the game.
