According to a report from Bild journalist journalist Nico Linner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ), João Palhinha does not want leave Bayern Munich, despite the club openly shopping him:
João Palhinha has never completely given up on the idea of establishing himself at Bayern, hence his statement yesterday (‘my plan is to keep my position here’). After Bayern failed to reach an agreement with any of the interested clubs recently, Palhinha became more and more open to staying in Munich. As things stand, the Portuguese midfielder wants to fight for his spot, even though Vincent Kompany did not have him in his plans. However should the club actively force him out, Palhinha and Bayern would have to find a different solution together. Up until now, Bayern have been unwilling to accommodate potential suitors. Palhinha intends to remain professional as long as he’s still at the club.
This could just be a strong public relations play for Palhinha, so he does not come across as a malcontent or he might be trying to convince the club that he does not want another move. Either way, this situation could drag on for a spell before there is a resolution.
