West Bromwich Albion boss James Morrison has praised the "huge potential" of summer signing Jimmy-Jay Morgan but still wants more squad additions.
Morgan scored twice and provided assists for Albion's other two goals in their 4-1 friendly win at League Two side Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Baggies on a four-year deal from Chelsea last month, but Morrison has urged patience with his progress.
"I've been really pleased with him," Morrison told BBC Radio WM. "He's an exciting young player, and knows where the back of the net is.
"I'm not worried about him with the ball, I've just got to keep on top of him, reminding him of his job without the ball.
"He's young so performances will probably be up and down, but he's got huge potential and we can see that in his performances in pre-season."

Morrison wants more signings this summer and "hungry players" to create competition for places as the Championship club looks to improve on last season's disappointing 21st-placed finish.
As well as Morgan, Albion have so far brought back Conor Townsend after his exit from Ipswich and signed goalkeeper Matt Ingram from Oxford and Falkirk striker Barney Stewart.
"Everyone's working extremely hard to bring players in, we're all on the same page," Morrison said.
"We know we need to bring players in and behind the scenes we're getting the work done."
The Albion boss also confirmed attacking midfielder Tammer Bany was back in training after tweaking his hamstring in the pre-season friendly with Sheffield Wednesday on 11 July.
The Jordan international was out for four months last season with a ruptured thigh picked up in training last December.
He has yet to start a game for the Baggies since joining for a fee of around £3.3m in February 2025, although he made four Championship appearances off the bench last season.
"We're just progressing him nicely and he'll play some minutes, maybe with the [under] 21s, or as the games go on he can feature," said Morrison.
"At this moment in time he's just building up to fitness."
