Packers CB Brandon Cisse says injury vs. Broncos is ‘nothing serious

Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Cisse got the start opposite Keisean Nixon on the outside against the Denver Broncos on Friday, but he only played one of the first-team defense’s two drives in the game after going down with an injury after a punt. According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette ’s Ryan Wood , Cisse said he got double-teamed as a punter gunner and felt “a little something” in his knee after the play.

Reporters and fans in attendance in Denver saw Cisse go over to the blue tent while the first-team defense played through their second drive, and Cisse later was photographed riding a stationary bike on the sideline.

According to Cisse, the injury is “nothing serious at all,” and he wanted to reenter the game, while the club was “being precautionary.”

This is your reminder that the Packers have been pretty conservative with injuries this preseason. While players like running back Josh Jacobs, receiver Jayden Reed, tight end Tucker Kraft, left guard Aaron Banks, right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, edge defender Dani Dennis-Sutton and cornerback Carrington Valentine all practiced with the team this week, they all were held out of action against the Broncos on Friday .

So you can go ahead and exhale a bit, Packers fans. It seems like Cisse is going to be alright.

There have been no updates on receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, who appeared to exit the game with a possible concussion, or defensive lineman Warren Brinson, who surprisingly didn’t get a single snap versus Denver, despite not being listed as a scratch by the team.
