Judge Charlotte Sweeney of the U.S. District Court of Colorado granted a preliminary injunction Friday requiring the NCAA to declare all high school class of 2022 athletes who exhausted all four of their seasons eligible. The NCAA will immediately appeal the ruling, which is the latest attack on its new five-year, age-based eligibility policy.
News of Sweeney's ruling swept the nation and fans of college athletics immediately started forecasting who might return to their schools. On3 reported former Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos, who went undrafted, is open to a return to college.

For the Sooners , former football players including defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. , tight end Jaren Kanak , running back Jaydn Ott , safety Robert Spears-Jennings and defensive lineman Damonic Williams are all eligible to return if the ruling sticks. All five are currently participating in NFL training camp.
In men's basketball, forward Tae Davis is eligible to return. You have to think coach Porter Moser would be game after Davis averaged 13 points for OU last season.
In women's basketball, three-time All-American Raegan Beers was part of the 2022 class and only played four seasons. Beers is currently averaging 3.6 points per game for the WNBA's Connecticut Sun.
The ruling could also be massive for the Sooners' diamond sports. Reigning national champion first baseman Dayton Tockey and outfielder Trey Gambill are also eligible to return. For Patty Gasso's team, eligible returners include infielder Ailana Agbayani , outfielder Abby Dayton and pitchers Sydney Berzon and Kierston Deal .
Reigning NCAA All-Around champion Faith Torrez is also eligible to return for coach K.J. Kindler and OU women's gymnastics.
A lot of questions remain following Friday's ruling. But it appears some coaches and general managers have received a second chance to build a roster for the 2026-27 athletic season.
