The ABC7 data team analyzed the primary election results in the mayoral race and created an interactive map showing the results in each city precinct. LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Registrar has certified the vote count from the June 2 primary election, confirming that incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman will advance to the Nov. 3 general election in the race for Los Angeles mayor.

Bass received just over 34% of the vote, while Raman finished second with 29%.

The county registrar's office also released data on how the mayoral candidates performed in each precinct in Los Angeles.

Over 850,000 people voted in the June primary for Los Angeles mayor. The ABC7 data team analyzed the results and created this interactive map, showing the results in each city precinct.

Click on any precinct and the vote count and percentage for the candidates will appear in a box on the screen.

Bass is represented by the color green. Precinct results show the strength of her support lies along the 10 Freeway and in communities in South Los Angeles -- the community she represented in Congress. She also had strong support in the Valley, particularly among Latinos, in places like Van Nuys, Sylmar and Sun Valley. Bass also had strong support in Venice and Westchester.

The darker color shades reveal stronger support in that precinct.

Precincts won by Raman are in purple. She fared well in Los Feliz, Silver Lake and neighborhoods on the east side of Los Angeles. She also performed well in Koreatown and northeast L.A.

Spencer Pratt, who finished third in the primary election with 26% of the vote, is in yellow. He won precincts on the west side of Los Angeles primarily, plus the northwest San Fernando Valley, like Chatsworth and Porter Ranch. He also had a strong showing in Sunland and Tujunga.

"The northeast L.A. strength for Raman didn't surprise me, because that's where you see a lot of the more progressive voters. You've seen progressive congressional candidates come through there," said Christina Bellantoni, a professor at USC Annenberg. "What is a huge question to me is, can you motivate people who are in these less populated areas to come out for a Democrat?"

The less populated areas Bellantoni referred to are communities that primarily voted for Pratt. The question going into the November runoff is -- where will Pratt voters go?

Bellantoni believes Pratt voters won't refrain from voting altogether, especially with Steve Hilton on the ballot for California governor.

"Bass is the establishment, and when you think about higher turnout because of the midterm elections and congressional power on the line, and a new governor on the line, that strengthens Bass's position, because people tend to say, 'Oh, this person's already the mayor, right?'" Bellantoni said. "A lot of people are not as informed voters as we might like them to be, and they say, 'Oh, this person's mayor. You know, they did OK.'"
