BELGRADE, SERBIA - AUGUST 01: (R-L) Gilbert Urbina elbows Vlasto Cepo of Serbia in a middleweight fight during the UFC Fight Night event at Belgrade Arena on August 01, 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia. (Photo by Ed Mulholland/Zuffa LLC)
Gilbert Urbina played spoiler earlier today (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) at UFC Belgrade LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, stunning Octagon newcomer and hometown favorite Vlasto Cepo with a first-round TKO (punches and elbows).
Saturday was supposed to be Cepo’s UFC coming out party as the former Oktagon MMA standout possessed the power to put Urbina out in the opening seconds. The only issue was that Cepo is a bit reckless in his pursuit for a finish. This was going to leave him open to counters punches from Urbina, who was trying to get back into the UFC win column for the first time since 2023.
Sadly for Cepo and the Serbian onlookers, Urbina came to destroy in his move up to 185 pounds. The former welterweight stood and banged with Cepo, but he was still able to defend the big shots. Urbina eventually connected on a stiff jab that stung Cepo and sent him crashing to the canvas. This allowed Urbina the chance to unload heavy punches and elbows to force the referee’s hand. The onslaught lasted a total of 61 seconds.
