3 takeaways from Day 7 of Bills camp: Final practice and the offense

Buffalo Bills 2026 NFL training camp is underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day. Especially with the hiring of Joe Brady as the team's new head coach .

Throughout practices each day, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes.

In terms of Day 7 of training camp, what stood out the most?

Here are Bills Wire's three observations from the seventh day of training camp:

O-line is there to stay

The Bills saw the offseason start by losing offensive lineman David Edwards. While their full O-line is not returning in 2026, another piece of it was locked in for the foreseeable future. The team agreed to terms on a four-year, $78.4 million deal with offensive lineman O'Cyrus Torrence.

Torrence, 25, was Buffalo's second-round selection at No. 53 overall at the 2023 NFL Draft.

In 2025,  Pro Football Focus  only graded Torrence a 59.8 overall mark for his efforts. However, that just shows up much general manager Brandon Beane and Buffalo's front office values chemistry in the trenches on offense.

Don't forget Landon

Edge defender Landon Jackson was third-round pick by the Bills in 2025 but barely played as a rookie. That's just a preface to noting you should not overlook him this season. Jackson has impressed during camp and did so again on Friday.

Throughout training camp, the offense and quarterback Josh Allen has had moments but by most accounts the defense has performed better. Allen and others on the offense have had no shame in admitting why that could be the case. They are crediting the fact that the defense is now led by defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard rather than the same defense the Bills offense has faced for eight-straight years under former head coach Sean McDermott.

It's something new making practice more difficult.

“It’s definitely not easy,” Allen said. “The pressure looks that they can show you, and the actual pressures that come with those looks are two different pictures. And when you're looking at the pre-snap look compared to when I get to my back foot, the amount of change in that defense is pretty crazy, and you really have to understand what type of coverages that they're playing."
