The Atlanta Falcons have the most Georgia Bulldogs of any NFL team (tied with the Philadelphia Eagles) with training camp starting across the league. Among the Georgia players on Atlanta's roster is running back Cash Jones, who is hoping that he can sneak on to the Falcons' final 53-man roster or practice squad after the preseason.
Jones went undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft. He did not even have a major role at Georgia. Jones primarily was a third-down back and had just 13 carries for 15 rushing yards in 2025. However, he was a solid pass-catching option and posted 20 receptions for 195 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport names Jones as the undrafted free agent with the best chance to make the Falcons' roster. Davenport likes Jones not because of his rushing or receiving skills, but due to his ability on special teams. Jones was a special teams standout during his time at Georgia and NFL teams value quality special teams play.
"Where Jones really stood out was on special teams, and his extensive experience on both kickoff and punt coverage could carve a path for him into the NFL," Davenport writes.
Jones notably recovered an onsides kick against Texas during the 2025 season. In addition to his special teams' play, Jones has the receiving chops to succeed in the NFL. During minicamp, the Falcons played him at wide receiver. We'll see if Jones takes any snaps at receiver this preseason. He is still listed as a running back on Atlanta's official website.
