BZZR has reached another streaming agreement, this time with the Los Angeles Rams, as the upstart free streamer eyes further expansion.
The Los Angeles Rams announced an agreement with BZZR to make the service its local preseason streaming home. According to Sportico, all three preseason games will stream free to fans in California, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, as well as in Australia and Mexico. Rams preseason games will also continue to air on local television.
The agreement is a first for an NFL team with a streamer, as teams were only allowed to stream preseason games directly to fans this season. BZZR believes that gives it a leg up in the free sports streaming space.
BZZR was launched without much fanfare in April 2026. But it really burst onto the scene in July, when the Texas Rangers moved their direct-to-consumer streaming platform to BZZR after financial issues at the prior home: Victory+.
The launch drew criticism from some fans because BZZR initially lacked apps for Roku, Samsung, and LG smart TVs. An app on Roku has since been launched.
BZZR has also been expanding its shoulder content. As a tie-in to the Rams agreement, the streamer reached a deal with The Sporting Tribune that will see Tribune reporters host a Rams postgame show following the final two preseason games, while the Tribune will also launch team-specific podcasts on BZZR.
Existing shoulder programming includes content from NFL film analyst Brett Kollmann, Ramblin’ Rams and Brooke Knows Ball, among others.
BZZR seems to feel that the Rams deal is just the start of things to come.
“The Rams agreement is a defining moment for BZZR – proof that our model works and a blueprint for how we scale,” said Brett Weitz, CEO of BZZR. “Every major team is looking for new ways to reach fans, and BZZR is building the infrastructure to power that shift at scale. This deal marks the next step in our growth as a company, and it certainly won’t be the last.”
Aside from its Rangers direct-to-consumer service, BZZR is currently free. Its only real competitor in the free sports streaming space is Victory+. That streamer has recently lost agreements with the Rangers, the NWSL, and the Anaheim Ducks due to financial issues. Though Victory+ says that, for the moment, it is not planning to shut down, it still airs Texas high school football games, as well as Dallas Stars games.
It’s a nice start, but BZZR still faces a daunting task in avoiding the mistakes Victory+ made.
