Falcons land WR help in 2027 NFL mock draft from CBS Sports

There are some major question marks surrounding the Atlanta Falcons ' roster as the team prepares to kick off training camp this week in Flowery Branch. From the starting quarterback competition to the battle for the No. 2 wide receiver job, Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski has much to figure out over the next month.

The team signed former first-round pick Jahan Dotson to replace speedster Darnell Mooney, but it's fair to question whether or not he's capable of filling that role. Dotson's career stats suggest otherwise, however, it's tough to produce when you're stuck behind two elite receivers, as he was in Philadelphia.

Former Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch appears to have a bright future, assuming his effectiveness isn't hindered by his lack of size. Depending on how this season goes, the Falcons may or may not be looking for a new No. 2 wide receiver in 2027.

Atlanta lands a perfect complement to Drake London in a new CBS Sports mock draft from Mike Renner. The Falcons were projected to take Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman with the sixth overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

"Cam Coleman is a wildly explosive 6-foot-3, 200-pound wideout who spent the past two seasons stuck with poor quarterback play at Auburn," wrote Renner . "That changes this year as he heads to Texas to pair with Arch Manning. He should be a household name by season's end."

Coleman racked up 93 receptions for 1,306 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns (14.0 yards per catch) over the last two seasons at Auburn. The Falcons have dealt with similar quarterback issues over the past few years, so Coleman would feel right at home in Atlanta.

The Falcons did re-sign London to a four-year, $141 million contract extension during the offseason, however, there is still a clear lack of depth behind him. Branch could be a long-term option in the slot with No. 2 upside, but it wouldn't hurt to add to the receiver room in 2027.

For now, Atlanta is set to kick off training camp with its current wide receiver group. Although, we wouldn't be surprised to see the team add someone like Stefon Diggs or Keenan Allen before camp ends.
