Meet the four Little League teams playing for the Massachusetts title

Four Massachusetts teams took one step further on the road to Williamsport over the weekend, and now they’ll face off for the chance to be crowned the best in the Bay State.

The Massachusetts Little League state championship tournament is set to take place from Thursday, July 30-Sunday, Aug. 2 at the CRA Complex in Holden, MA, with the winner advancing to the New England regional tournament in Bristol, CT to play for a chance to represent New England at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. A team from Massachusetts has represented New England on youth baseball's biggest stage the past four years.

The four teams left standing in Massachusetts are Section 1 and District 1 champions Pittsfield, Section 2 and District 7 champions Bridgewater, Section 3 and District 10 champions Parkway (West Roxbury/Roslindale) and Section 4 and District 15 champions Boxford.

Ahead of the start of the modified double-elimination tournament, here's a closer look at all four teams and their journeys to the state championship tournament.

Pittsfield Little League All-Stars

Players: No. 5 Brody Hamilton, No. 9 Carmelo Coco, No. 27 Chase Albano, No. 6 Colton Smith, No. 25 Hector Reyes-Colon, No. 23 Maizen Errichetto, No. 2 Mason Fox, No. 50 Myles Morrison-Gould, No. 1 Sean Rozak, No. 4 Shaun Boehm, No. 0 Thomas Lacatell and No. 3 Will Knauth

Coaches: Joe Skutnik, Ben Knauth, Tanner Hanford and Ty Perrault

How they got here: Pittsfield captured the program's second District 1 12U title in three years by taking down state championship hosts Holden 3-0 in the title game on Saturday, July 25. Pittsfield has gone a perfect 8-0 this summer, outscoring opponents 94-8 in the process. Mason-Gould has been the team's ace on the mound, tossing a complete game shutout giving up 4 hits and a walk while striking out 7 in the sectional championship for Pittsfield's second win in three days over Holden. At the plate, Reyes-Colon has led the way, going a combined 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, 3 runs and 3 RBIs over the two games against Holden. He has four home runs on the summer, including one in each of the last three games.

Bridgewater American 12U

Players: No. 10 Anthony Sullivan, No. 23 Callan Goodwin, No. 99 Calvin McGough, No. 6 Cam Hutchinson, No. 7 Dominik Mombeleur, No. 1 Eamon Hynes, No. 9 Jackson Morin, No. 12 JJ Gaff, No. 5 Jude DeSimone, No. 8 Luke Schlatz, No. 11 RJ Zackrison and No. 24 Tristyn Lee

Coaches: Tim Zackrison, Bryan Goodwin, Joe Mombeleur and Ryan Morin

How they got here: Bridgewater went 3-1 at the Section 2 tournament, putting up 23 runs with its lone loss coming to Hingham. While Bridgewater fell 14-2 to Hingham in their first meeting, the team was able to avenge its loss with a 3-0 win in the title game on Sunday, July 26, snapping a three-game losing skid against Hingham that dated back to when they were both 11U. Propelling the Bridgewater offense has been power-hitting cleanup batter Dominik Mombeleur, who went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI off a solo home run, his sixth of the summer, in the sectional championship. He also tossed 3⅔ no-hit innings, giving up 7 walks while striking out 5 before Hutchinson closed it out tossing 2⅓ shutout innings giving up a pair of walk and a hit while also recording a strikeout. The program will now hope to earn its second New England title in three years , with Bridgewater American having represented the region in Williamsport in 2024.

Parkway 12 All-Stars

Players: No. 4 Aiden Coakley, No. 88 Anderson Malone, No. 24 Brenden O'Brien, No. 12 Charlie White, No. 13 Coleman Nee, No. 2 Dylan Chisholm, No. 8 Kyle DeLong, No. 15 Matthew Andrade, No. 6 Niko Rushton, No. 99 Odin Berte, No. 11 Riley Desmaris and No. 35 Will Bernazanni

Coaches: Charlie DeLong, Kevin Coakley and Nick Andrade

How they got here: The boys from West Roxbury and Roslindale prevailed in a seven inning, 7-6 win over Walpole for the Section 3 crown on Saturday, July 25. White, who went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, drove in Aiden Coakley on a walk-off single for the win, avenging Parkway's 21-11 loss to Walpole on Thursday, July 23. The team has gone 8-4-1 this summer, outscoring opponents 86-71, and is 7-2 since the start of July. Matthew Andrade tossed the first 4⅓ innings against Walpole, giving up 4 runs on a pair of hits and 5 walks while striking out 4, and also went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI at the plate.

Boxford All-Stars 12U

Players: No. 2 Rhett Barnes, No. 28 Henry Carrieri, No. 44 Jake DeLeo, No. 8 Brendan Foley, No. 99 Cam Kalvaitis, No. 18 Ben Lachance, No. 11 Graham McKenzie, No. 19 Vincent Merullo, No. 13 Henry Pracht, No. 5 Harry Stevens, No. 24 Jackson Surface and No. 23 Bennett Taeger

Coaches: Paul DeLeo, Chris Merullo and Ralph Carrieri

How they got here: Boxford went a perfect 10-0 en route to the program's first-ever sectional title, outscoring its opponents 76-12 with four shutouts, including a pair of no hitters. Boxford defeated Lynnfield 6-1 in the Section 4 title game on Saturday, July 25, led by a strong performance on the mound and at the plate from pitcher Jake DeLeo. The Boxford ace tossed a complete game, giving up a run on three hits while striking out 10, including the final six batters he faced, and went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs.
