SOCIETY With more dangerous heat on the way, Covenant House California needs bottled water donations now By Phillip Palmer Tuesday, July 28, 2026 5:13PM As Southern California prepares for another round of heat this week, nonprofit organizations are in need of basic supplies, including cases of water. LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- As Southern California prepares for another round of heat this week, nonprofit organizations are in need of basic supplies, including cases of water.
Covenant House California, a nonprofit that helps homeless teens and young adults, is asking the public to donate cases of bottled water to its Hollywood facility.
Last week, the group was down to just two cases.
Covenant House California also provides relief by transforming its support center - which is open five days a week - into a drop-in cooling center. The center is open to anyone looking for a place to cool off, access food and water, take a shower or do laundry.
The organization has also recently expanded access to "emergency overnights," meaning a young person who needs a cool, safe place to sleep can stay on an emergency basis, even if they have not yet completed an intake or been added to the queue.
Cases can be dropped off at 1325 N Western Avenue Monday through from 9 to 5 p.m.
