Azealia Banks Files Restraining Order Against Ex-Manager

07:16 PM PT -- Jeff's lawyer, Michael E. Weinsten, tells TMZ, "This purported filing by Ms Banks is just the latest desperate ... act from someone who has already been found liable in a court of law for defaming my client over many years, threatening this family, interfering with his business and other outrageous conduct."

Jeff sued Azealia in 2020 for alleged defamation, stalking, invasion of privacy and civil extortion. She denied the claims. The singer filed a countersuit, but the claims were dismissed. Jeff's lawsuit against Azealia remains ongoing.

Jeff's lawyer said they recently completed a trial on the issue of damages where they put forth evidence of the alleged damage caused by "Ms. Banks and her antics."

Michael tells TMZ, "We are expecting a ruling in the coming months and look forward to the court holding Ms. Banks fully accountable for her actions." He said the singer had the chance to raise her "alleged grievances" in the lawsuit, "but all of her claims were dismissed ... with prejudice."

Azealia Banks just filed for a temporary restraining order against her ex-manager, claiming he psychologically and emotionally abused her for over a decade.

According to Monday\u2019s filing, obtained by TMZ, AB says she\u2019s been abused by Jeff Kwatinetz since 2014, when he allegedly got her to sign up for a life insurance policy when she was intoxicated.

Banks claims ... \u201cHe gave me expensive red wine and put the policy in front of me when I was drunk and we were cozied up.\u201d

Azealia alleges the policy wasn\u2019t reviewed by a lawyer -- and she wasn\u2019t even sure if her attorney knew about it. She claims JK won\u2019t tell her if the policy is still active or who benefits from it.

When describing her relationship with Jeff in the new filing, Azealia checked the box that said \u201cwe are dating or used to date,\u201d alleging in her declaration that they had an \u201cintimate and very close relationship\u201d and accusing him of mixing their personal relationship with his control over her career.

The rapper also accused Kwatinetz of hiring a private security firm to \u201clocate and profile\u201d her, alleging they were \u201cmapping\u201d her home from the air.

She claims that during this time, she once came home to a \u201cwide-open window\u201d and would see \u201crandom unmarked cars\u201d near her homes when she would move from state to state. She also alleged that he\u2019d falsely accused her of trying to rob his house.

In the filing, Azealia claims the most recent abuse went down in November, accusing Kwatinetz of coercive control, financial exploitation, blackmail and disturbing her peace ... while also alleging that he hasn\u2019t spoken to her directly in about 10 years.

She alleges he demanded she extend her recording contract and make more music to line his pockets \u2026 while she says he was falsely telling the court that she refused to be deposed.

In case you weren\u2019t aware ... Jeff first sued Azealia back in 2020 for alleged extortion. Jeff moved for dismissal, but then filed another complaint in 2021 alleging stalking, defamation, and civil extortion. She was ultimately found liable.

Not only is the artist asking for a stay-away and no-contact order, she\u2019s also asking for protection for her mom, sister, niece and nephew ... claiming that he may try to go through them to get to her.

Azealia\u2019s also asking that he disclose and cancel the alleged life insurance policy, doesn\u2019t hire anyone to monitor her and allow her to appear remotely for any hearings.

To be clear, Azealia isn\u2019t alleging physical abuse in her filing, but instead that she suffered psychological and emotional abuse at the hands of Kwatinetz.
