Texas A&M tennis reloads behind Perez for another title run

Texas A&M has transformed into one of the premier destinations in college women’s tennis, and the results speak for themselves. Three national championship appearances and two titles in the last three seasons have pushed the Aggies firmly into the sport’s elite tier and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

The 2026–27 roster returns multiple players ranked inside the top 50 , headlined by Lucciana Perez, the nation’s No. 1 singles player and the engine behind last year’s championship run . The Aggies entered the Elite Eight as perceived underdogs, but their grit, depth, and late‑season surge carried them all the way to another national title.

This season brings a different challenge. A&M must replace several key contributors from last year’s roster, and the SEC, already the strongest conference in women’s tennis, improved across the board during the offseason. Even so, the Aggies remain firmly in the championship conversation, and there’s a strong chance the national title once again comes out of the SEC.

To help reload, Texas A&M welcomes two top‑20 newcomers:

Ruby Colling (No. 17)

Arina Bulatova (No. 20)

Both are expected to make an immediate impact and help offset the production lost to graduation. Meanwhile, Perez teams up with Olivia Lincer to form the No. 11-ranked doubles pair, giving the Aggies a formidable one‑two punch at the top of the lineup.

With elite returners, high‑end newcomers, and the sport’s top player leading the charge, Texas A&M enters the 2026–27 season with the talent, pedigree, and momentum to remain one of the nation’s most feared programs.
