Jersey's Filip Nowacki says his fifth-placed finish in the 50m breaststroke final gives him confidence for his final event at the Commonwealth Games.
The 100m breaststroke silver medallist finished in 27.20 seconds as Australia's Sam Williamson won the race to take his second gold at Glasgow 2026.
South Africa's Michael Houlie won silver, with world record-holder and Nowacki's mentor Adam Ramsay-Peaty winning his second bronze medal of the Games.
The shortest breaststroke distance is Nowacki's weakest event with his strongest, the 200m, still to come.
The world junior champion begins his quest for a second medal in the heats of the 200m breaststroke on Tuesday morning with the final in the evening.
"It gives me a lot of confidence," Nowacki - who won Jersey's first medal in 36 years on Saturday - told BBC Jersey.
"The 200m is my main event so I've come down to the 100m, then the 50m is a bit of a hit and miss for me, I race it for a bit of fun.
"That there was great and it definitely gives me a lot of confidence having that speed."

Jersey swimmer Clara Ginnis finished eighth in the final of the women's 400m individual medley.
The 18-year-old, in her first major international meet, finished in a time of 5:04.73 as Australia's World Championship silver medallist Jenna Forrester won gold in 4:31.19.
Ginnis' time was 1.10 seconds faster than her time in the semi-final as she became just the second female swimmer from Jersey to reach a Commonwealth Games final.
"Just being out there is incredible, I'm just so happy to be there," Ginnis told BBC Jersey
"One of my long-term goals was to make a Commonwealth final, so I'm just so pleased to have done that.
"I don't feel like I'm that far into my swimming career," added Ginnis, who still has the 800m freestyle to race.
"I'm going to the US for four years, so to have done that now, six months ago during my A-levels I wouldn't have said I would have done that, so I'm just pretty proud of myself."
