Easter Egg Star Wars Star Wars Battlefront 2
In 2005, Pandemic Studios and EA released Star Wars: Battlefront 2 , a third-person Battlefield -like shooter set in the popular sci-fi franchise. It was a very good game. Some might call it one of the best Star Wars games ever made. And now, 20 years later, a fun little secret has been found involving Wampas and Ewoks.
On August 9, Iamashaymin, modder and lead fan developer behind Battlefront III Legacy, posted a short video on YouTube showing off a newly discovered and undocumented easter egg hidden in 2005's Battlefront 2. The secret was discovered while decompiling the PC version of Battlefront 2 . If players create a new in-game profile named "Wampa" and then load up the game mode "Hunt" on the map Endor, they'll unlock a new playable unit on the Imperial side. Previously, Hunt on Endor featured only little Ewok warriors and Imperial Stormtrooper snipers. However, using the Wampa profile secret, you can now shred Ewoks as the big Yeti-like ape creature seen in The Empire Strikes Back.
The secret was reportedly found by S1thK3nny, a modder who is working on a soon-to-be-released mod for Star Wars Battlefront 2 that removes many of the game's old limits and adds new animations and more. While decompiling Battlefront 2 's code, they spotted this previously unseen secret. And according to Iamashaymin, the reason it wasn't found before is that this secret is hidden deeper in the game code, outside of the usual area where modders tinker with the shooter.
This Wampa secret only works on the PC versions of Battlefront 2. All console versions lack the Wampa secret. You also can't pull this off when playing online. But you can use the Wampa secret when playing split-screen on PC via the Classic Collection version of the game released in 2024.
