Sopranos' star sings national anthem at Mets game on same day that fellow castmember dies

Saturday was a bittersweet day for fans of "The Sopranos."

Fans of the legendary TV series were excited to see one of the show's stars belting out the National Anthem at a New York Mets game.

But, eerily, it happened on the same day that one of the series' most recognizable stars passed away .

On Saturday, the Mets hosted the Miami Marlins at Citi Field, and before the game, they welcomed Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Meadow Soprano on the series, to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner."

That was a solid rendition, and fans were excited to see Sigler out on the field handling anthem duties.

However, there was a bit of an eerie coincidence that fans started to notice as the day went on.

Also on Saturday, it was announced that actor Vincent Pastore , who played Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero, had passed away at the age of 80.

Fans certainly took notice of how the two things coincided.

Again, a total coincidence... but let's be honest about it, that's kind of odd.

It's not every day that a cast member from the show sings the anthem at a Major League Baseball game, so for it to happen and start making the rounds on social media on the same day that we learned that a beloved actor from the show had died?

Yeah, that's really wild.

But it also goes to show what an impact "The Sopranos" has had, considering it came to an end in 2007.

Which is just under 20 years ago.
