Washington Football Commit Accepts 2027 Navy All-American Bowl Invite

At least one Washington Huskies commit in the 2027 recruiting class will represent the Big Ten program in the 2027 Navy All-American Bowl.

Nolan Balke, a punter from Casteel High School in Queen Creek, Arizona, formally accepted an invitation to play in the annual high school football all-star showcase held in San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome on January 9. The game has served as the marquee prep event for graduating seniors across the country since its inception in 2000, when the U.S. Army was the presenting sponsor.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Grand Canyon State product is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports in this year's class. According to Kohl's Kicking rankings, a specialist-centered recruiting service, Balke is ranked as the No. 5 punter in the '27 cycle as the expected heir apparent to senior San Diego State transfer addition Hunter Green.

— Navy All-American Bowl (@AABonNBC) July 16, 2026 UW has had at least one signee play in the Navy All-American Bowl in each of the past two years, with true freshman wide receiver Jordan Clay being a two-time selection, while defensive linemen TI Umu-Cais and JD Hill, and offensive lineman Kodi Greene were all selected to compete in the 2026 contest.

"Balke attended his first Kohl's ranking camp in May of 2026 and showed very promising upside as a punter," Kohl's Kicking wrote in an evaluation of the UW commit.

"His drill work was at the D1 level. He has the leg strength, coordination, and athleticism to play college football. Balke scored 109.26 points during the charting phase of camp and then really showed well in the afternoon drill work phase of camp. Balke is someone to watch in the month of June as a class of 2027 college prospect."

Balke is one of two special teams pledges for coach Jedd Fisch and coordinator Chris Petrilli in the '27 class, along with fellow Arizona native and Sandra Day O'Connor High School product Braylon Logan, who is viewed as the next in line as the Huskies ' long snapper after senior Ryan Kean finishes up his final year of eligibility after the 2026 season.
