In the Big Ten, offensive firepower is necessary for success. A defensive coach such as USC's Gary Patterson knows how to get the most out of talented guys on defense and short-circuit a high-powered offensive attack. One player Patterson is already appearing to improve is USC redshirt freshman corner Alex Graham .
In a recent tweet , Su’a Kristopher Cravens gave his thoughts on a potential breakout candidate on the Trojans ' defense. Here is what he had to say about Alex Graham:
"ALEX GRAHAM !!! He’s playing nickel/safety in this 4-2-5, and he looked good. Fluid in coverage and high IQ, I got him as my breakout DB if he remains healthy."
An injury to start the season complicated things for Alex Graham last season, but when he got his chance, he shone in a big way. Last season, he saw 5 games of action and managed to get 2 starts as a freshman. Against TCU in the bowl game for USC, he posted an impressive 8 tackles and a tackle for a loss. Now that Graham is fully healthy and is being developed by one of the best in the business, a big season definitely is on the way for the redshirt freshman.
