Earlier this week, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White drew boos from fans during the introductions for the team's home game against the New York Liberty.
After the Fever achieved a statement win, defeating the Liberty 86-72, Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark both said they had their head coach's back. On Thursday, their teammate Aliyah Boston weighed in on the matter, saying she felt the "same way" as Cunningham and Clark.
"I think when you are on your home floor and your team's getting announced or the coach is getting announced, I feel like there's no reason for any of that," Boston said . "We come out here, and we do everything that we can do to win.
"Steph does a great job with us. We love her, and so to hear that it was really annoying, honestly, and disrespectful, but for us, we kept the main thing the main thing," she said, referring to the team's goal of winning that game.

The booing may have stemmed from White's comments after a previous win over the Chicago Sky. In the first quarter of that game, Cunningham was on a fast-break layup with the Sky's Dijonai Carrington attempting to chase her down on defense.
As Cunningham attempted her layup, Carrington jumped with her to attempt to block the shot or swipe the ball away, but instead, her arm hit Cunningham across the face and neck. After review, it resulted in a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection for Carrington.
Some felt White defended Carrington's foul after the game since she was one of her former players she coached on the Connecticut Sun. In her postgame comments, she initially said she didn't feel it was "intentionally" done by Carrington to hit Cunningham across the neck, and labeled it as a "hard foul."
"I don't oppose the hard foul, but I also don't think that she went intentionally for the neck," she said in her postgame remarks .
She has since clarified that she hadn't seen the play well enough before making her postgame comments about Carrington's foul.
The Fever have found themselves surrounded by drama and controversy lately , including Cunningham's previous remarks related to trans gender athletes and women's sports.
Their head coach recently made a fiery pregame statement the other day in response to what she and players have referred to as "outside noise." In her speech, she also referred to "an online community that is attempting to create narratives that simply don't exist."
The Fever players seem to fully support their head coach as the team's main priority is to win basketball games on its way to the postseason.
