The Jacksonville Jaguars' initial 53-man roster is set, but next up for GM James Gladstone is scouring the waiver wire for any potential additions.
Many of the released players from around the NFL on Sunday will be subject to waivers. If the Jaguars want to add one of those players to their team, they will put in a claim.
If multiple teams put in a claim, then that player goes to the team with the higher priority, which at this time of the year is determined by the original 2026 draft order before trades. The Jaguars currently sit at No. 24 in waiver priority.
With help from Daniel Popper's waiver wire big board over at The Athletic, and taking into account positions that the Jaguars could still add to, here are three potential waiver wire additions.
CB Mory Bamba
Bamba went undrafted this past April out of BYU. He only played in the first preseason game due to injury, but he impressed, allowing just four receptions on 10 targets with two pass breakups.
What Popper had to say: "He is 6-foot-2 and can use that frame to play physically at the line of scrimmage in press alignments. Bamba can play inside and outside."
What's the need for the Jaguars? Cornerback isn't a pressing need by any means, but with only five players on the 53-man roster, the depth could be bolstered.
OT Christian Jones
Jones was a fifth-round pick by the Cardinals in 2024 and has played 74 career offensive snaps. This preseason, he graded out well as a run-blocker by PFF's metrics and gave up one sack over 163 pass-blocking reps.
What Popper had to say: "He has a feel for timing and space when matched up one-on-one with edge rushers. He has quick feet when moving laterally to mirror rushes."
What's the need for the Jaguars? There is no such thing as too much offensive line depth, particularly at the tackle position. Jones would provide a secondary off-the-bench option to Walker Little.
DT Coziah Izzard
Izzard initially signed with the Chiefs as a UDFA after the 2025 NFL draft. He did not play any defensive snaps as a rookie. This preseason, he generated four pressures and a sack on 42 pass rush reps.
What Popper had to say: "Izzard brings some pass-rush upside as an interior player. He has a sudden get-off and quick hands. He understands how to create leverage in tight spaces."
What's the need for the Jaguars? Whether or not the Jaguars have enough pass rush juice from the defensive tackle position still remains unknown.
