The Tennessee Titans set their initial 53-man roster on Sunday afternoon, and some players marked the occasion with a big sigh of relief. However, for others, it just added another night of sweating.
With all 32 teams paring their rosters down to 53 from 90, there will be plenty of waiver wire or free agent action over the next few hours, and some players could be in jeopardy if the Titans are active on the waiver wire in an attempt to improve the roster.
Here is a list of four Titans who could still be on the bubble as the waiver process plays out.
OT Austin Deculus
Deculus making the 53-man roster might have been the biggest surprise of the day. In fact, the Titans keeping 10 offensive linemen was a complete surprise. If the Titans decide to look at an offensive tackle on the waiver wire or via free agency, Deculus could feel the heat.
OG Garrett Dellinger
Much like the case with Deculus, it was a bit of a surprise to see Dellinger make the final 53. While it’s unlikely Tennessee looks for both a tackle and a guard on the waiver wire, Dellinger should be prepared just in case.
TE Kylen Granson
There was a question about how many tight ends the Titans would keep, and with them keeping four, it made sense to keep Granson. Now, with the waiver process in full swing, his time could be limited if Tennessee decides to add strength to another position.
S Jerrick Reed II
The Titans may look to add to their secondary, which could make Reed expendable, with fellow defensive back Erick Hallett II offering cornerback/safety flexibility. Although he has played well during the preseason, Reed was a bit of a surprise.
