The Seminoles announced Monday that the Marching Chiefs Pep Band will travel to road contests at Alabama (Sept. 19), Louisville (Oct. 9) and Miami (Oct. 17) after boosters provided the funding needed to make the trips possible. The university recognized donors whose contributions covered the band's travel expenses for each of the three games.
Road appearances by the Marching Chiefs are limited each season because of the logistical and financial challenges associated with transporting the band. This year's fundraising effort allows Florida State's pep band to be present for one of the Seminoles' biggest nonconference matchups and two pivotal conference road contests.
The first trip comes when Florida State visits Alabama on Sept. 19 before the Seminoles head to Louisville three weeks later. The band will then travel to Miami on Oct. 17 for one of the ACC's premier rivalry games.
Known for performances of "FSU Fight Song," "Massacre," and other Florida State traditions, the Marching Chiefs have long been one of the university's most recognizable game day staples. Their presence at select road venues provides Seminole fans with a familiar soundtrack while adding another piece of Tallahassee's home atmosphere away from Doak Campbell Stadium.
Florida State thanked the supporters who made the initiative possible and noted that contributions from Seminole fans helped ensure the Marching Chiefs will once again accompany the football program for several of its biggest road tests during the 2026 season.
